FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
How
does shipping work?
After
payment is received, I will contact you to work out a shipping date. I ship
FedEx Priority Overnight on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I can ship to a FedEx hub
to be held for pick up or in many cases I can ship to your home. Please see
requirements on my Contact & Terms page.
Can I pick up locally?
Yes, we can make arrangements to meet locally. However, I can’t accommodate visitors at my location and will need to meet you nearby.
Why is only hatch month shown and not hatch date?
I keep my clutches together until they have all had their first shed. It can take an entire week for a clutch to hatch. I honestly don’t have a way to track what date each one came out of the egg, but I can narrow it down to early, mid, or late month.
Do you keep feeding records?
I do, but I have a different approach than most. I keep feeding records until a hatchling has eaten three consecutive meals. After that I only record refusals and regurges. I feed once a week so if there are no notes it means they have eaten every week with no issues, which is the case with the vast majority of my hatchlings. Usually I only get an occasional “in shed” refusal.
Is there a discount for shipping multiple snakes in one shipment?
Yes, the shipping rate is a flat rate. You can add as many critters as you like to the same shipment, you will only pay the one shipping fee.
When did my snake last eat?
I feed on Thursdays, that way they are all ready to ship by the following Tuesday. This doesn’t mean you need to feed on Thursdays. Allow three days for acclimating and then choose a day that works best for you.
Are your Miami’s Locality animals?
My animals are Miami Phase, not Miami Locality. I breed for color only and I do not trace my animals lineage back to any certain locality. I also do not advertise them as “het for nothing”. Hets such as motley, stripe, amel, anery, cinder, and more may pop up in their genetics.
When
should I see an update on my FedEx tracking #?
I drop off shipments by 4pm Pacific Standard Time. You should see some activity on your FedEx tracking page by 5pm Pacific Standard Time.
Are
snakes for sale eating frozen thawed mice?
Yes,
unless otherwise stated, all snakes listed for sale are eating appropriate
sized frozen thawed mice.
Do
you have a waiting list?
I am currently not keeping waiting lists. However, I do offer a special that can give you first crack at the season’s Miamis. Please see my Miami Phase Breeder’s Choice Special and click “Notify Me”.
